CBD & Full Spectrum CBD | Benefits & Differences

CBD Oil & Full Spectrum CBD Oil

CBD Oil in the broadest sense is the isolated form of cannabinoids while “Full Spectrum CBD Oil” refers to the pure form of hemp oil that contains all the compounds within cannabis or hemp plant. For CBD to be considered Full Spectrum it should contain traces of all the compounds of cannabis including cannabinoids and terpenes and even THC, which is the psychoactive element of cannabis responsible for the 'high'. (Please note that all of our CBD products are legal because they contain less than .3% THC.)

Other Types of CBD Oils

Cannabis oils that contain all the compounds except for THC are called "broad spectrum CBD" as they may contain secondary cannabinoids like CBG, CBN, CBC, CBDV. If the cannabis oil is pure CBD without THC, it is referred to as "Zero THC Hemp Oil."

Difference in Composition of Full Spectrum CBD Oil & CBD Oil

There is a lot of disparity in terms of information where CBD products are concerned, but to create a clear understanding, the CBD in the hemp plant contains a huge number of compounds of cannabinoids in trace amounts, with the main constituents being CBD and CBDa (cannabidiolic acid). For the CBD products in the market the CBDa is heated and decarboxylated to create the isolated or more synthetic form of CBD.

The isolated CBD Oil does not contain many compounds of the original hemp plant, so the basic composition differs, as does the interaction between its compounds and the receptor. The full spectrum CBD oil provides a more natural form of oil that helps boost the entourage effect of cannabinoids, suggesting more therapeutic benefits.

Benefits of Full Spectrum CBD Oil

While CBD Oil has a lot of advantages, Full Spectrum CBD Oil has a variety of benefits that are different and unique to its own form:

  1. Extra Nutrients: Full spectrum CBD contains a variety of essential compounds and minerals necessary for the body like fatty acids, terpenes, fiber and protein to name a few.
  2. Pain: Studies comparing the two forms of CBD are starting to show that the full spectrum CBD oil is more effective in helping with pain of the joints.
  3. Nausea: Another study suggested that the entourage effect in the full spectrum version has increased efficacy in disorders like anorexia and nausea as the THC seems to help stimulate the appetite.
  4. Neurological Symptoms: Studies are showing that it helps in the improvement of neurological disorders.

The effect of CBD or full spectrum CBD oil varies depending on the quality if the extraction process, the brand, plus the dosage being used.
